 Knight Lodge Stables wants to highlight the world class Equine facilities being built at Southside Racecourse. 

Equinetrain Centre

Dasame Developments have purchased 5.4 hectares of land which will be transformed into a Training and Rehabilitation Facility, known as the EquineTrain Centre.

Proposed facilities for the development include:

  • Water Walker(s)

  • Treadmill(s)

  • Equine Exercise & Rehabilitation Equipment

  • Stables, Day Yards & Spelling Paddocks

  • Equine Pharmacy

  • Cold Spa for horses

  • Professional Consulting Rooms

Stage one of five will allow for Track Work preparation and recovery and will include two 10 horse water walker, several day yards and paddocks. Stage two has been the construction of an administration facility, stable boxes, currently developing sheltered day yards, pharmacy and consulting block, a feed and bedding store and an additional water walker or multi-walker.

The facility will enable trainers to access additional services at various stages of their horse's preparation and enhance the Club's overall training offer.

The EquineTrain Centre is the first of several infrastructure developments over the coming years that will help to maintain Pakenham Racecourse.

Pakenham Racing has 5 training track, Slow Sand, Fast Sand, Poly track for all weather racing, grass raining track and the Course Proper.   There is a 50meter equine pool and a preparing functional design drawings for three uphill training tracks on its eastern boundary.
The Club holds both day and night meetings throughout the year which has been an asset in the future development of racing facilities in Victoria.
